By Communications staff
January, 2009
Dale Wallster, BSc’79 (Honors Geology) of Hathor Uranium in Vancouver has made a $100,000 donation with $10,000 for Western Rowing and $90,000 in support of the Economic and Energy Resource Geology Program in the Department of Earth Sciences at the Faculty of Science.
With the input and support of industry champions, the Department’s vision is to develop an integrated undergraduate and graduate program that will position Western as a leader in the field of Economic and Energy Resource Geology. The proposed curriculum will address the current shortage of qualified professionals by training and supporting a new generation of entrepreneurial geologists.
As founder and past president of Roughrider Uranium, Wallster is a geologist and prospector with 27 years experience in North American mineral deposit exploration. This is his first gift to Western, which he made using Western’s online giving process.
