Q: How long have you been an advisor in this field?
A: I started my Financial Advisory career in 1983; I worked with several organizations in the United States & Canada. I have been involved in the Gift Planning field since 1999.

Q: Do you have experience advising clients who have arranged planned gifts? For how many years?
A: Yes, I introduced Gift Planning through Estate Planning Seminars and then follow up with a meeting for those who are interested.

Q: Do you have specialized training in gift planning?
A: I have attended several Gift Planning training sessions with several life insurance companies, including London Life, Manulife & Industrial Alliance.

Q: Have you made arrangements for a personal planned gift?
A: Yes, I have annual commitment to a charitable foundation.

Q: What is your personal philosophy of philanthropy, and gift planning, specifically?
A: We are very fortunate to live in Canada; it’s truly our duty and moral obligation to give back to the community to serve the interest of others. Gift Planning not only provides individuals and organizations with the satisfaction of giving back to their communities, but recent changes to Canadian tax laws now ensure there has never been a more tax-advantaged time to give.

Q: Are you a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners – locally and/or nationally? If so, for how long? If not, would you like more information about this organization?
A: No, I would like to get information about the organization.

Q: What ethical/professional code(s) do you follow in your work?
A: I work under ADVOCIS Code of Professional Conduct.

Q: How are you involved in your community?
A: I am passionate about three charities in the community and volunteering is part of my lifestyle to give back.
