The Ambassador Program

The Ambassadors Program is the first of its kind in Canada. It brings donors together with Western alumni and friends who work as planned gift advisors. Ambassadors are alumni and friends of Western who have volunteered to join the Program. The program provides direction and assistance to those who require professional counsel in the areas of estate planning and legacy giving.

Legacy Giving Ambassadors Program is the first of its kind in Canada. It brings donors together with Western alumni and friends who work as planned gift advisors. Ambassadors are alumni and friends of Western who have volunteered to join the Program. The program provides direction and assistance to those who require professional counsel in the areas of estate planning and legacy giving.


The Program goals include:
  • Providing donors with names, contact information and background in the form of Questions & Answers from Ambassadors working in the following fields
    • Accounting
    • Estate planning
    • Financial consulting
    • Life insurance
    • Wealth management
  • Bringing LFT Ambassadors together with donors who require professional advice when they are ready to create a planned gift to Western.
  • Informing donors of the financial benefits of creating a legacy for tomorrow with technical advice from Ambassadors.
Ambassadors are alumni and friends of Western who have volunteered to join the Program. The Gift Planning Office recommends that you read the Q&A page of any Ambassador you consider to learn more about his/her services and qualifications. The Gift Planning Office and the University are not responsible for the advice provided.

Some of the Ambassadors' responsibilities include:

  • Display a certificate that identifies you as an LFT Ambassador
  • Have Legacy Giving information packages on hand for interested clients and colleagues
  • Distribute Legacy Giving or Western Gift Planning staff business cards while networking

Benefits to Ambassador

  • Your name, job title, contact information and a brief Q&A section will be included on the Legacy Giving website.
  • Your name, job title and contact information will appear on a list accessible by the public, and be provided to individuals upon request
  • You will receive invitations to attend Western events with other alumni, i.e. Branch or Chapter events in your area
  • A member of the gift planning staff will personally meet with Ambassadors where possible and deliver materials that describe the Program, including a certificate for display in your office
Western will track gifts facilitated by Ambassadors and recognize your work on our behalf with a formal recognition system.

Ambassadors are here for you. They have information for donors interested in creating planned gift to support planned gift to support Western's future students and research. You may contact any one of them for consultation on how you can incorporate a planned gift to Western as part of your financial and philanthropic plans.
